About this deal

These are the most basic Kailh switches and closely resemble the corresponding Cherry MX or Gateron switches. I would recommend you look beyond these in favour of the Kailh Box switches. The box design offers a smoother feel with less keycap wobble due to the design of the stem. To keep Kailh Box Jade Switches performing at their best, it’s important to clean them regularly. Here are some tips for keeping your switches clean: So I must apologize ahead of time, even though I planned on making this post I completely forgot to take any pictures, but without further ado let's get on with the "review." When looking to buy a keyboard with Kailh Box Jade Switches, there are several factors you need to consider. First, you need to make sure the keyboard is compatible with your device. I received both BOX Jades and Navies so naturally the first thing that I did was open up the bags and test them out individually, comparing them to their counterparts the BOX White and Pale Blues. The first thing I noticed was that the Navies had a much more cushioned feel to them and the Jades had a more pronounced tactile bump (I would attribute this to the differences in the spring weights as generally speaking a lighter spring allows the bump to be more pronounced).

Even though these are Pro switches, I did not find them to be as smooth as the Box or Speed switches. They have quite a wobbly feel, especially compared to the Kailh Box switches. They have a good tactile bump right at the start of the key press and feel more linear for the rest of the key travel. They have a stiffer spring towards the end of the keystroke, similar in feel to the Kailh Heavy switches and are quite difficult to bottom out. One thing I do like with the Pro Purple is the sound. They have a nice reassuring thud when pressed, a richer sound than the Box Brown. They have often been labelled a poor cousin to Zealios switches, especially the 65g and 67g versions. I prefer to think of them as having a unique feel. If you are a light typist and do not regularly bottom out your keys, these are a fantastic switch. If you are a heavy typer you may not enjoy their feel when they bottom out. Overall, the Kailh Box Silent Red is not as smooth as the other Kailh Box designs, with the Red or Speed Silver offering a smoother feel with a similar activation force. Kailh Speed Silver For stem wobble, there is some, but not much. Along the North-South line the stem can move a noticeable amount between my fingers, though I do not think it is enough to be concerned about. Along the West-East line there is some movement, but it is far less, basically just enough to tell the stem is able to move. Remember, to ensure the stem can freely move up and down there will be some space for it to wobble in the housing. I think I finally came across a switch with silly amounts of tactility AND a good reset speed... the NK Blueberry review will be coming...

Plus, they are quiet enough that I can type without disturbing others. Overall, I would highly recommend Kailh Box Jade switches to anyone looking for an amazing typing experience! Gaming experience Similar in design to the Cherry MX Silent Red, the switch includes a rubber dampener to reduce noise when they bottom out. Unlike other Box designs, the stem features a circle shape rather than a box. Interesting the stem is a bright pink colour rather than simply a lighter red on the Cherry MX. The design does increase the activations to 80 million. Whilst these have a lower sound they also have a lower tactile bump which is disappointing. They feel similar to the Gateron Brown that also has a low tactile feel. With a similar internal design to the Cherry MX Silent Red, the switch includes a rubber dampener to reduce noise when they bottom out. Unlike Kailh Box switches, these feature a stem that is a circular shape rather than a box. This did not seem to introduce any more or less keycap wobble. Kailh Pro Purple Upper Housing - The upper housing is made from a plastic polymer to a very high level of tolerance, guiding the stem to create a smooth vertical movement with a negligible wobble. You will notice that with very cheap keyboards, the keys feel very unstable when typing.

These babies are holy dang tactile, I used other words when describing to friends but I think holy dang is pretty good.I prefer the Kailh Box switches over the Pro switches for typing feel and response. Kailh Speed Copper Kailh Box Jades are the current industry standard for mechanical keyboard switches. However, there are alternatives to Kailh Box Jade switches that may be a better fit for your needs. In this article, we will show you the detail of this brand! We hope you can enjoy it ! Brand reputation and the history IP40 - This rating covers most Cherry MX switches, with a solid protection rating of 4, meaning protection against solid objects larger than 1mm and a liquid protection rating of 0, meaning no rating or protection. I own 6 types and have extensively tried them for at least one month of typing per switch, some much longer. The ones I currently own are: Box Whites, Pale Blues, Jades, Navies, Pinks and Royals. I will go through each switch from my most disliked to my favorite, just know that I don't hate ANY of these switches at all I just prefer some over others. I will also include my average and highest typing speeds that I achieved on Nitrotype.

Gaming - If you are predominantly using the keyboard for gaming, I would recommend a linear key switch. They offer a smooth keystroke and are silent. Most gaming keyboards include a Red key switch. I built in my Kona Classic that I got from a group buy earlier in the year. This board is designed by u/AuthenticDanger and was really fun to build and has tons of layout options which I was keen on at the time. Linear key switches are popular for gaming, where the smooth travel of the keys minimises any finger fatigue due to fast and intensive key presses. Key SwitchTactile key switches are popular for typing as they offer a noticeable tactile bump when pressed and have little noise. The tactile bump allows typists to achieve higher typing speeds as they are aware of the point the switch activates and can therefore remove their finger and move to the next key. Key Switch I made another change to my procedure by having another period of time at the end when I am speaking and typing at the same time. The reason is because I had observed RNNoise was able to remove fan noise while I was speaking when I was first testing it for my recordings, however long ago. I wanted to discover if it would be able to remove the sound of the Box Jades like it did the fan noise, which seemed like the fan was not there (something I will certainly enjoy in the Summer months). First though I want to share the results of the first sound tests, from shortly after I installed the switches. As usual I have uploaded the audio files to GitHub so they can be viewed: Custom-Keyboard-Files/@Switches/Kailh Box Jade/NK65. Heavier switches are better for gaming because they offer more resistance and require more force to activate. Lighter switches are better for typing because they’re easier to press down and don’t require as much force. Additionally, the Corsair STRAFE RGB MK2 is fully programmable so you can create your own custom macros or key bindings. Ultimately, the best switch for you depends on your individual needs and preferences. So, before settling on Kailh Box Jade switches, be sure to explore all your options and find the switch that’s perfect for you FAQs
