About this deal

I shall be hosting a business and mindset masterclass with the CEO of Mums In Business international on the 29th November and you are invited to get involved. If you run your own business and want to learn some marketing and business strategy you can implement right now to end your year on a high and learn the mindset tools specific to being a business owner (side hustle or full time), then you'll love this. In this episode I will share a story about where some of my own inner shame has come from and what I do now to silence that noise. In the run-up to her show, I sat down and spoke with Holly about her work surrounding mental health, the challenges people of all ages are facing, and the steps we can take towards living a positive and more fulfilling life.

Make sure to never listen whilst driving, operating heavy machinery (or any machinery as it goes!). Essentially, chill out, take this moment to sit, lie down and prioritise you. When we apologise constantly it is a habit and often because we are also struggling with our confidence and self esteem, this episode is here to support your journey away from empty sorry's and towards feeling strong enough to only apology when you have actually done something wrong. When you join The membershipyou will become part of the team and be supported not just by me on our our regular group coaching calls or lives sessions, but by the rest of those within the membership in our community Facebook group. Self-development used to be something confined to a very particular sect of society and it all seemed a little outlandish for a huge chunk of the population, but now it's time for self-development to stop trying to be fancy and start becoming the norm.

My agent had jobs in the pipeline, I had a couple of films I was booked to do - and then he got diagnosed,” Holly recalls. “I phoned my agent and said: ‘Cancel everything. I’m doing nothing’.”Holly has amassed over 60,000 followers across her social media platforms and her award winning YouTube Channel 'Happy Me TV' also offers regular advice on navigating life and all it's challenges. Holly used this space to vlog about the death of her husband to brain cancer, which generated huge press interest in her story and enabled her to help more people. Boosting your self esteem and building your confidence is the kindness thing you can do for yourself and will take you closer to the life you want.

Geordies will get how I deliver it,” Holly promises. “I grew up around normal working-class people who say it like it is. I grew up in a family who were straight-talking, and debated, and looked the tiger in the eye - and I think that’s a real Geordie thing.” Being an adult human is messy, awkward, challenging and often embarrassing. in this episode we own the chaos and remind ourselves that we are all the same. As an award winning self development coach, hypnotherapist, former TV actress and widowed Mum of Two, Holly Matthews has spent over twenty years studying the mind and finding ways for herself (and then her clients) to feel good more than they don't.Life is challenging enough without us being unkind to ourselves. Sometimes we just need to be reminded that even though their may be difficult stuff we are dealing with and our house might be a mess (my house is a mess!) we are still doing fabulous. Holly’s relatable and raw approach to self development has her teaching people how to feel ‘more happy and less crappy’ in a way that reaches those that never thought ‘self development’ would be for them. Full Book Name: The Happy Me Project: The no-nonsense guide to self-development: Winner of the Health and Wellbeing Book Award 2022 Holly’s Ted Talk has been watched by over 150,000 people and she has appeared on Lorraine, BBC, ITV, Talk Radio and featured in The Daily Mail, Mirror, The Sun, Closer, Hello, Psychologies Life Labs and Spirit & Destiny and Prima Magazine.

Holly has amassed over 40,000 followers across her social media platforms and her award winning YouTube Channel ‘Happy Me TV’ also offers regular advice on navigating life and all it’s challenges. Holly used this space to vlog about the death of her husband to brain cancer, which generated huge press interest in her story. Since the birth of the internet we have found ourselves spinning plates more than ever before. We are expected to be thriving at work, running a side hustle business, spending every waking moment at the gym, be great parents and look amazing whilst doing it. We have a right to live a life that feels good to us”, she stressed, “and that is not going to look the same as everybody else’s.” Holly is a qualified Life Coach, NLP practitioner, hypnotherapist and also coaches women in business as a mentor, where her focus is primarily on confidence and ‘getting your business seen in a noisy world’. Holly Matthews is on a mission to make your life better, and she's keeping it simple. No BS. No fluff. However, I did feel that this book tries to cover so many things that nothing is really given the deep dive you may need. I suppose in those cases, you should seek out specific sources that do go deeper. So this is more of a jumping off point for self improvement. And for me, as I've read slightly wider in this genre, I did find it quite surface level. I enjoyed Holly's voice and the format of this book, but for anyone really struggling or going through a specific trauma or mental health struggle then this might not be as helpful as it would be for someone who just needs to get them out of a rut. This was also part of a wider conversation around social anxiety in The Happy Me project membership and you can still get hold of that online workshop right now by joining the membership. Holly continued to work on her own self-development as the years passed, but initially hadn’t thought about pursuing it as a full-time job. It was when her husband was tragically diagnosed with brain cancer in 2014 that she made the sudden decision to change her career forever. Holly does this to make sure you know she see you and values you.
