Unless your only metric is fps / res, which to each their own but I'll state remains strange to me. What would be good is if we could see PES on switch: - there is zero excuse for Switch not having a top quality football sim. It can handle it and it only needs a developer with an extra half an hour on its hands than EA seems to have. But let’s not also kid ourselves that FIFA 20 is somehow incredibly amazing on other platforms. It isn’t. It’s just a rehash with Volta added on. But, I told you so. EA has been doing this for years! Release a strictly inferior product on Nintendo, so that when it doesn't sell as well as on other platforms, they can say "Well obviously Nintendo gamers aren't interested in our games!" They will blame the consumer and make all manner of excuses for why they can't be bothered to deliver a quality product.

Regarding Fifa, I love 1080p 60fps games, but it isn't an impressive feat when no work was done otherwise to the game bar a kit, squad, UI overlay update for 45 quid a pop. If there's one game or genre, where a season/battle/subscription pass model would make sense, it's sportsball stuff covering minor changes with the occasional DLC mode.FIFA20: EA SPORTS Launches New No Room For Racism Kit". Last year, I had this to say about FIFA 19’s gameplay on Nintendo Switch: “FIFA 19’s moment-to-moment gameplay remains, disappointingly, largely unchanged from last year’s under-par outing. Still running on EA’s Ignite engine (last used on the PS4/Xbox/PC version for FIFA 16), it simply can’t compete with the fluidity of movement and authentically animated players the Frostbite-powered versions display [...] All in all, FIFA 19’s gameplay on Switch appears to have been largely neglected when compared to last year, and especially when compared to its big brother.” Yes, you will still be able to experience the authenticity & atmosphere of the UEFA Champions League and Europa League. The UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Super Cup come to life across experiences in EA SPORTS FIFA 19. From live content updates in FIFA 19 Ultimate Team™, to authentic Career Mode integration, to an all-new standalone UEFA Champions League Mode, you can experience the greatest club football competition in the world no matter where you play in FIFA 19.When asked if this was the end of EA aiming for parity with Nintendo Switch versions of FIFA in the future, McHardy seemed unsure. Sad thing is, it will probably still sell tens of thousands of copies, if not more and EA will makes tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars off of it. Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard was named the new cover star of the Standard Edition, with Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk on the cover of the Champions Edition. [4] Former Juventus and Real Madrid midfielder Zinedine Zidane was later named as the cover star for the Ultimate Edition. [5] Horti, Samuel (8 June 2019). Yes, you’ll be able to play FIFA Ultimate Team, featuring Manager Tasks, Single Player & Online Seasons, Single Player & Online Tournaments, Single Player & Online Draft, Online Singles Matches, Online Friendly Seasons, Team of the Week Challenges and Squad Building Challenges.

Speaking to Eurogamer's Chris Tapsell today at EA Play in Los Angeles, FIFA 20 executive producer Aaron McHardy explained exactly what this meant for Nintendo fans.

The reality is that we aren’t idiots, and the Switch user base isn’t made up of second class citizens. It’s estimated now that total Switch sales have overtaken those of the Xbox One, and that’s with a four-year head start taken into account. It may be a less powerful system, but the user base is undoubtedly there, and Nintendo is once again in a position of power where its players don’t need to curtsy and gratefully kiss the feet of any third-party publisher who generously decides to grace the system with its presence. The average consumer isn't going to read a review like this. They are going to see a FIFA game at the store and think "Oh hey, that's the big name for Football/Soccer that we've had for years, and it's got all my favorite teams!" and they will buy it, not knowing just how badly they are getting ripped off.Now dont get me wrong, I am not against low tier teams / leagues, but when important teams or leagues are missing and they keep adding/containing extreme low tier teams / leagues, it just annoys me Ronan Murphy (10 October 2019). "FIFA 20 review: Flawed release but dependable fun for football fans". Goal. Archived from the original on 18 October 2019 . Retrieved 18 October 2019. FIFA 19 is a threadbare experience on the Switch. The inclusion of the Champions League and a significant graphical upgrade goes some way to approaching the levels of presentation found on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC version, but on the pitch it’s a mile away from being a premium football simulation and fails to build on last year’s game. I can see myself having some fun playing the new House Rules modes locally with friends, but in most single-player modes there is no doubt that it is a repetitive and unfulfilling experience.
